Homecoming: An annual event at schools, colleges, and universities for visiting graduates.
With the definition of this word I start my post for this week. I do not know about your countries but in mine gong to college is a pretty linear activity. You wake up, go to class, get some homew
ork, go back home , do homework and get ready for the next day. Pretty routinely, not much to expect other than another regular day. H
ere in the
US, schools try their best to keep students engaged with the campus community by having activities almost every day of the week. But there is one activity that goes beyond the normal standard. Homecoming !!!!!
During the whole week there are games and visits from alumni. It is funny, the other day a student was giving a tour around the campus to the Augsburg class of 1960-something. Since those tours are usually given to people that are planning to attend to the school I told my friends “see guys, there is the upco
ming freshman
class”....hopefully you got the joke.
Homecoming comes along with a big celebration on Saturday befo
re and after the so called “homecoming football(american football)
game”. This year there was a good amount of people around despite the cold and rainy weather. I enjoyed of the FREE food, breaking the piƱata with the Hamline University logo(the football game was against them) and the always cool block party after the game.
Anyway, homecoming is a great excuse to
socialize, meet new people and strengthen the pride of being part of a school in this case to be an AUGGIE!!!!
I have some great pictures (some other that are not that great) for you to “disfrutar”.
